If I were looking for a unit that can cook tasty bacon, pancakes, eggs and other similar foods I would definitely be interested in the Rival Fold n Store griddle. First of all, the electric griddle is well designed and has an interesting feature that not many other electric griddles have – the ability to folded for easy storage. It's not hard to understand that people with a relatively small kitchen or cabinet would love to use the Rival folding griddle since it would be quite easy to store it and get it out for use.
Moreover, this specific Rival electric griddle is not really expensive when compared to other brands such as the Broil King griddle or the popular Cuisinart Griddler. On the other hand, some of the Presto electric griddles might be cheaper than the Rival griddles so if you are looking for a cheap unit, these brands would probably be the choice.
In addition, the Rival GRF405 Fold n Store griddle does seem to do a good job of cooking. Although it might be a bit messy to cook hamburgers and other really fat foods on this unit (because of the excessive grease and cooking liquids that the griddle electric unit might not be able to drain), other foods like pancakes, eggs and French toasts can end up just fine – delicious and tasty as you would want it to be.
For those who insist on griddle grill (or a different unit) that can also be used to cook those really fat foods (like hamburgers for example), it would be a good idea to consider the George Foreman electric grill griddle and in particular the new model of this brand. The new design has removable grilling plates that make the cleaning much easier for the user. You can check the review of this George Foreman grill GRP99 by following the link to a different post about this grill.
It's just that the George Foreman unit does a better job with fat foods since it can drain much more grease than the Rival Fold n Store griddle GRF405 and the removable griddle plates can really help with the cleaning.
Ok, enough with the Foreman grills, this Rival electric griddle can be just as good if not better when you cook pancakes, hash browns, eggs and other foods. However, when you use or cook with the Rival Folding griddle you should be aware that the grease can splatter on the unit's temperature control and the kitchen countertop so you have to be careful and willing to do some extra cleaning.
