Presto Big Griddle | Presto Biggriddle Cool Touch Griddle

Whenever we have decided to have a nice pancake breakfast or other meal for our family meetings which include a lot of members, there was a grave need for an electric griddle grill that would be big enough and maintain the heating temperature at the same time. Although there are many electric griddles in the market like the Rival griddle, the BroilKing electric griddle and even the Cuisinart griddler I wanted to know why are the Presto griddles so popular.

Since we needed an electric grill griddle that wouldn't weight a lot and would be quite easy to clean we decided to try the Presto 07046 Tilt n Drain Big Griddle Cool Touch Electric Griddle. I have noticed a couple of the negative reviews and really was a bit concerned about the even heating of the Presto biggriddle, as this problem was reported in several reviews. Even if one is concerned about the heating, the griddle electric unit is probably better than the regular griddle stove top or a frying pan.
Anyway, after getting the Presto 07046 griddle, spraying it with some cooking spray, giving it enough time to heat up to the correct temperature, I can say that the pancakes were cooked ok after various tweaking and moving around. Nothing fancy, like a golden brown pancake that might be the result of a commercial electric griddle, but the pancakes were edible and even tasty (tasted similar to other large electric grill that we had in the past).
We ended up with dozens of pancakes for our nice breakfast and even could be a bit proud to serve everybody even after some hard work. So the Presto griddles are really all very cheap but they seem to work fine, especially this exact model – the Presto biggriddle cool touch griddle.

Although the Presto 07046 griddle is supposed to offer easy cleanup, the cleaning was in fact, the cleaning itself was a bit hard only as a result of its big size. The unit definitely didn't fit into the sink in my kitchen, although it does sound fine to hear that the Presto electric griddle is fully submersible (when removed of the cord and electrical plug). I think that other Presto electric griddles also offer this feature, so a smaller griddle electric unit might fit better into the average sink (well most of the indoor grill griddle units won't fit the sink anyway).
However it's kind of cleaned up relatively easy on my specific kitchen countertop; just remember that you have to clean each and every corner so that the grease won't accumulate itself. It's also important to mention that the Presto biggriddle cool touch griddle is very big, so that before you decide to get this Presto griddle, check the claimed size first and then make sure you a place that can fit this unit. On the other hand, I am just unable comment on the interesting Tilt n Drain feature of the Presto big griddle since I didn't use it yet, nevertheless it does tilt easily so it looks promising.

I have bought the Presto 07046 big griddle about a month ago and I must say that it's big, like really HUGE! I barely have enough place for this griddle, but it cooks the pancakes very good - so I'm happy with it :)
